About Us

The Capital District Susu Women’s Club was established in August 1994. It was initiated by two women in the Capital District to follow the tradition of African women in their country of origin.

Once every year, the organization hosts its Gala and Fundraising Event to honor selected members of our community and to raise needed funds to help support worthy causes.

Since our group was founded, funds raised during each event have been used to provide scholarships of a cash grant to two high school seniors already accepted at a college/university, to pay for additional expenses; and a cash grant for a selected educational project in Africa or the Caribbean via an established organization in the USA.
